With over 10 years of working with and supporting artists, agents and venues in Charlotte, as well as attending thousands of live shows with hubby Don, I’ve gotten to know the Charlotte music scene and its artists pretty well. I’ve been graced with quite a few local music awards, (most recently Best Music Blog 2012), and have been dubbed “The Queen of Charlotte Music.” Also, over the last few years, we have hosted over 100 bands from around the world in our home, the ‘Rock & Roll Motel’. These experiences have been some of the best and most rewarding we’ve done. All along the way, I’ve also been involved in various projects, charity events, festivals, boards and promotions.
Prior to the full-time activities with the Charlotte music scene, I was an Asst. Property Manager with one of Charlotte’s premiere retail and commercial office tower developers in Uptown Charlotte. After switching to their Marketing Division and working with many creative minds at one of the best jobs I’ve ever had for 4 years, the economy collapse forced me me to refocus my energies, and become a self-employed Web Designer and aspiring musician. While taking guitar lessons through CPCC from John Tosco, and volunteering to design the Tosco Music Party website, I was invited to become a member of the TMP advisory committee, where I met local musicians whom became friends and clients. The more I met, the more my involvement grew, and I found my niche in the community.
